The Case for Faith

Was God telling me the truth when he said, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart?”

In his book, “The Case for Faith,” Strobel sets out to answer the eight main emotionally-charged objections to Christianity. To do this, he travels all around America, interviewing some of the most prominent Christian theologians of our day. Along the way, he gathers conclusive evidence towards faith in God and His word, while decisively refuting opponents to the faith. Wonderfully done!

I think the only problem I had with this book is that chapter 6 (the chapter about hell) wasn’t as convincing as the other seven. This is mainly because J.P. Moreland (one of the people interviewed) bases the main thrust of his argument on how God respects the choice that humans make to choose or not choose Christ. Sometimes, it’s hard for me to clearly distinguish the line between God’s soverignty and man’s free will, but, maybe it’ll be clearer after I read R.C. Sproul’s book on the soverignty of God. Still, “The Case for Faith” is a great book.
